Karachi, Jan 28 (PTI) Pakistan Cricket Board is mulling new clauses in the players'' central contracts for 2010 which lay more emphasis on the performance and fitness level of the players. Wasim Bari, PCB chief operating officer, said the new clauses will be first discussed with the central contracts committee tomorrow during a meeting before being incorporated. "We intend to give contracts to 28 to 29 players but we will also have stipends for the top performers in the domestic season and national under-19 team. We have around four new clauses in the contract which will be discussed with the central contracts committee on Thursday," Bari said. Bari, without revealing much about the meeting, said, "those players who are not fit or injured or have not performed will not get the new contracts." However, he made it clear that the board has no intention to reduce the monthly retainers given to players in the new contract. "They will get the same amount -- Rs 250,000 in top category, Rs 175,000 for B category and Rs 125,000 for C category." The contract committee includes Bari, Zakir Khan the director cricket operations and chief selector, Iqbal Qasim. (More) PTI Corr SHN
